RESEARCH
The scientific activities of FOTOFUEL encompass five research lines: the design and synthesis of advanced multifunctional materials for an improved use of solar light; the development of new theoretical and experimental tools to study structure-activity correlations in those materials; the design and set-up of efficient photoreactors, together with control, analysis and data management tools aimed at their scalability and eventual industrial development; viability studies, including process simulation and standardisation; and life cycle assessment for the evaluation of environmental, social and economic impact of solar fuels production.
