REACTORS
In any chemical reaction, the design of the reactor where it will take plase is crucial, since it will determine the process efficiency at large scale. In the case of photocatalytic reactions, not only the reactor itself, but also the irradiation source as well as the light collector in solar installations, play a key role. FOTOFUEL faces the design of reactors for solar fuels production by taking into account different technical and economical aspects, in order to facilitate the future scale-up of the process. We study the coupling of the involved reactions wil solar collecting systems, as well as the comparison of this way of irradiation with others like solar-thermal- or photovoltaic-fed lamps. These studies will set the basis for the future industrial development of solar-fuel photoreactors.
